Students and Faculty of Nankai University School of Law attend the annual meeting of the Chinese Society of International Law

The seminar on “Xi Jinping’s thought on the rule of law and International Law”and the annual Chinese Society of International Law 2021 Conference opened on May 22 in Haikou, Hainan Province. The two-day conference was co-hosted by the Chinese Society of International Law and Hainan University, and was attended by nearly 500 experts and representatives from relevant departments such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Commerce, international organizations such as the United Nations, and universities from around the world.


Professor Bai Jiayu, Associate Professor Tang Yingxia, Associate Professor Hu Jianguo, Professor Wang Shaotang and doctoral student Sun Chenglong of Nankai University School of Law attended the meeting and spoke at four sub-forums.


The meeting closely revolved around the requirements of Xi Jinping’s thought onrule of law, conducting in-depth discussions on such issues as the establishment of a foreign-related rule of law system, the concept of A Community of Shared Future for Mankind and International Law, the application of International Law to prevent risks and challenges, the reform of the global governance system, andhow to strengthen the study and application of international law under the guidance of Xi Jinping’s rule of law thought in the new era.


 A seminar entitled “50th anniversary of the restoration of China’s lawful seat in the United Nations: China’s contribution to International Law” was also held during the conference, recalling China’s return to the United Nations over the past 50 years. This seminar summarizes the glorious history of China’s the restoration of our lawful seat in the UNfrom the perspective of international law.
