2. Introduction

Bai Jiayu is the Professor and Doctor Supervisor at Nankai University Law School. She is also the Visiting scholar of George Washington University and Visiting professor of Dalhousie University. She is the Chief Expert of a major project of the National Social Science Foundation named “Building a Maritime Power in the New Era”. She has presided over two other NSFC projects and a number of provincial and ministerial projects funded by the Ministry of Education, Justice, Natural Resources and the China Law Society.

 

Professor Bai has published three monographs in People’s Publishing House and China University of Political Science and Law Press, one textbook, and more than 80 papers in SCI/SSCI/CSSCI journals, including Marine Pollution Bulletin, The International Journal of Marine and Coastal Law, Ocean Development & International Law, and Chinese Journal of Marine Law. She has also published online paper in Cambridge Journal of International and Comparative Law.

 

Professor Bai’s Chinese papers have been reprinted in Xinhua Digest, Chinese Social Science Digest, China University Academic Abstracts, and Reprinted Newspaper and Journal Materials. She has won 4 provincial and ministerial-level teaching and research awards, as well as city and hall-level and other research and teaching awards more than 10 items. She has been to several well-known institutions and research institutions for academic exchanges such as United States, Canada, Finland, Britain, Germany, Greece, New Zealand, Singapore, Korea, Japan and other countries. She serves as the Director of the China Society for the Law of the Sea, the Marine Strategic Planning and Economic Research Branch of the China Ocean Development Research Society and the Marine Rights Protection and Law Enforcement Research Sub-Committee of the China Pacific Society. She is also the Executive Director of the Marine Law Research Society of the Liaoning Law Society.
