主讲人简介：J.H. Verkerke教授是美国弗吉尼亚大学法学院教授，同时担任劳动法研究中心主任。 他在耶鲁大学法学院取得法律博士（J.D.）学位，同时在耶鲁大学经济学院获得经济学硕士学位，Verkerke教授在硕士期间师从诺贝尔奖获得者James Heckman教授。Verkerke教授的学术领域主要集中在劳动法、就业歧视法以及法经济学等领域，他擅长运用法经济学的视角研究劳动法。Verkerke教授在耶鲁大学法律评论、芝加哥大学法律评论、弗吉尼亚大学法律评论等美国一流法学期刊发表论文多篇。同时，Verkerke教授在法律教学领域颇有建树，他多次获得教学奖并且担任弗吉尼亚大学多个教学相关部门的负责人。他是国际知名的法律经济学家和劳动法学家。

J.H. (Rip) Verkerke is a professor of law and director of the Program for Employment and Labor Law Studies at the University of Virginia School of Law. He earned an M.Phil. in economics and a J.D. from Yale University. He joined the UVA Law School faculty in 1991 after clerking for Judge Ralph K. Winter, Jr. of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Verkerke teaches contracts, several employment law courses and a seminar on behavioral economic analysis of law.
Verkerke’s published research focuses on employment discrimination law, employment contracts, vicarious liability, the economics of discrimination, and contract theory. His articles were published in leading U.S. law journals, including Yale Law Review, Chicago Law Review, Virginia Law Review, etc.
